The cosmic energy of art brought the Souper Painters together. Judy and Joanie kept running into each other at art demonstrations at the Albuquerque Museum. Linda met them through a mutual artist friend. As members of the New Mexico Watercolor Society, they would sit together at meetings. Linda talked them into painting together every Thursday at her house. One of those days, Patti stopped by to get some watercolor paper from Judy. Before long she joined the Thursday painting sessions. Patti had to take a short hiatus from the group so Suzie became the Souper-Substitute. Soon the substitute part was dropped and Suzie was a full-fledged member of the group. Why "Souper" Painters, you ask? Early on, the group discovered that they all had a love for soup. Often they take turns bringing soup for all to enjoy at their Thursday painting sessions.
